If you are anything like me, then typing on your laptop is not always a pleasant experience. One problem is caused by the touchpad. Unfortunately when I type articles, emails, letters, etc., it seem like I am always tapping the touchpad and relocating the cursor. This relocation seem to always be in the midst of another sentence. If you have an external mouse that can be connected to a usb port you can avoid this problem by disabling the the touchpad while you are typing your next great novel or the next big money making how-to article. Listed below are the steps you would need to disable the touchpad under Windows 7. Click on the Windows 7 icon in the lower left-hand corner. This will bring up the start menu. On the right side of the list of options click on the ‘Control Panel’. This will cause the ‘Control Panel’ box to popup. In the upper right hand corner you will ‘Search’ input box. In that box type ‘mouse’. You will see a list of ‘Mouse’ options. Click on any Mouse option and it will bring up the Mouse Properties box. Click on the ‘Device Settings” tab and under Devices, highlight your Touchpad and then click on the Disable button (Enable if you are trying to reactivate the touchpad) or check the box [Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached]. At the bottom of the Mouse Properties box, click on and then Your touchpad will now be either completely disabled or disabled as long as the is a pointing device connected to the USB port. This would depend on the option you selected. You can reverse this by following steps 1-2 and in step 3 select Enable or uncheck the box, depending on the option used to disable the touchpad. Then continue on to step 4. Note: If you Mouse properties does not seem to match the description above then make sure the touchpad driver has been installed. What is Disability Insurance?
The Social Security office will want to check your medical history to be sure you qualify for disability benefits. The Social Security office is one way to get disability benefits, but in most cases these benefits will not be substantial enough for families.
Disability insurance can be obtained through any number of insurance companies. In the event that you are disabled, this insurance will serve as financial protection. You will receive a percentage of your gross income from your disability insurance policy, income that will ensure your own financial safety.
You do not have to go through the Social Security Office to take out a disability insurance policy, nor to receive the benefits from that policy. The Social Security disability program is not related to any disability insurance policy that you take out.
“Individual disability insurance is truly a basic concept. It is an insurance product designed to replace anywhere from 45-60% of your gross income on a tax-free basis should a sickness or illness prevent you from earning an income in your occupation. Every disability insurance policy from every insurance company is very different, this is not a product to simply shop for the most competitive rate. To buy the cheapest disability insurance policy on the market is to throw money away. The odds of getting paid a monthly benefit under a cheap contract may be significantly lower than receiving benefits from a quality contract.”
]]> Types of Disability Insurance
Long-term disability, however, can last for a period of several years. These types of policies may be included as a part of employment, in a benefits package, but many purchase these disability insurance policies individually.
As far as disability insurance goes, however, there are still more policies to learn about. One type of disability insurance is the Own-Occupation Disability Insurance. The definition of this policy reads:
“The inability to perform the material and substantial duties of your regular occupation, the insurance company will consider your occupation to be the occupation you are engaged in at the time you become disabled, they will pay the claim even if you are working in some other capacity.”
Another kind of disability insurance is the Income Replacement Insurance. This is a very popular type of disability insurance, and most insurance agents are familiar with this policy. The language of this type of disability insurance reads:
“Because of sickness or injury you are unable to perform the material and substantial duties of your occupation, and are not engaged in any other occupation.”
Common in employee benefits packages, Gainful Occupation Coverage is another popular form of disability insurance. The language here is worded very carefully:
“Because of sickness or injury you are unable to perform the material and substantial duties or your occupation, or any occupation for which you are deemed reasonably qualified by education, training, or experience.” Robert co-founded Insurance4USA.com, an insurance quote shopping service, in 1999. He has been a licensed insurance agent in New York State since 1990.

The concepts of multi, inter, and trans-disciplinary practice are very essential in any discipline and have similarities and differences. Trans-disciplinary practice involves collaboration between traditional and modern disciplines in order to come up with a refined outcome. This is very important as disciplines add value to each other. Multidisciplinary approach is the aspect of using many different disciplines in problem solving or decision making. Interdisciplinary approach involves collaborative communication and ideas rather than shared ideas. In this case, collaboratively each discipline contributes ideas and skills in order to interpret findings. Through a consensus, priorities are negotiated and an agreement made in decision making and problem solving. All these concepts are very essential in disability management practice as when used jointly, they bring about good outcomes. For instance, in the management of injury and disability at workplace; the aspect of joint labor collaboration can be of great significance. This study addresses the concepts of interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and trans-disciplinary approaches and identifies their impacts on disability management. In general terms, trans-disciplinary practice involves strategies that cross many disciplines in the attempt of creating a holistic approach. This concept is mostly used in researches that cross many disciplines and can be used in referring to the concepts that were primarily used or developed by one discipline but are currently used by several other disciplines (Hoeman, 2007). Trans-disciplinary approach is mostly used in the evolving world where the approaches that were traditionally used by a certain discipline get to be used by several others in solving the same or different problems. Transversely, the concept of trans-disciplinary is used in signifying a unity of skills and knowledge as well as experiences that go beyond disciplines. In this case, ideas or information are shared between disciplines, across different disciplines, and beyond disciplines and hence the resultant action is very significant. Reynolds (2008) indicates that, trans-disciplinary approach requires that information and knowledge are shared systematically across disciplinary boundaries. Purposely, trans-disciplinary approach involves pooling and integrating the experiences of team members in order to provide more effective and comprehensive evaluation and intervention. Experts and professionals from different disciplines usually, learn, teach, and work together in the pursuit of accomplishing a common set of intervention objectives and goals for a disability. The information provided goes beyond the boundaries of disciplines used. According to Harder and Scott (2005), interdisciplinary practice involves the process of sharing communication and ideas from one discipline to the other. In this case, a different discipline is used in solving problems that relate to another discipline. For instance, human resource management may make use of psychological experts or professionals in solving employees’ problems in an industry. In disability management, a number of disciplines should be used in order to pool all knowledge together. In this respect, interdisciplinary practice is very essential as it ensures that two or more disciplines exchange ideas and communication and as a result, a problem is solved (Shrey and Lacerte, 1995). The knowledge that is used in solving disability problem usually emerges from a number of disciplines. Ideas are collaboratively communicated and a single course of action is determined Shrey & Breslin, 1992). This concept states that ideas are borrowed from different fields, bits by bits and conclusion is made according to the ideas borrowed collaboratively. Out of interdisciplinary terms like biophysics and biomedical emerge meaning that two or more disciplines have been merged together in order to solve a complex problem. Multidisciplinary approach Dyck and Borner (2000) detail that; multidisciplinary approach is the aspect of using different disciplines in problem solving. In this case, a problem is solved by each discipline handling it from its own perspective. For instance, a problem arising from disability management is solved by different disciplines approaching the problem from different angles. On this basis, each team member from each discipline conducts an assessment, provision, and planning with different degrees of coordination. The whole team, after individual assessments, shares information and ideas either directly or indirectly (Shrey & Breslin, 1992). What is of great importance in this approach is good and timely communication in order to make sure that the different members or experts used in problem solving make a conclusion at the end. For example in case of a patient, different disciplines approach the problem differently and as a result it will be widely identified what the problem is. This is because a doctor can be treating a disease from a physical outlook but which should be treated psychologically. Here, multidisciplinary approach as indicated by Hoeman (2007) ensures that an expert approaching the problem from a psychological point of view will be in a position to get the solution. Differences between multidisciplinary, trans-disciplinary, and interdisciplinary approaches Reynolds (2008) details that multidisciplinary approach involves approaching a problem from different disciplines each one using its own perspective. In this respect, a patient is approached from different perspectives where consultations occur between separate individuals. Professionals consult each other as part of single appointment on a single day. On the other hand, interdisciplinary approach as indicated by Harder and Scott (2005) involves integration of separate discipline approaches into a single consultation. In this case, different ideas and information are pooled together in order to approach a patient from one perspective. For instance, the team conducts assessments, diagnosis, patient history taking and intervention at the same time. In this approach each team member contributes to the whole team what should be done to solve the problem. When different suggestions are raised, a conclusion is made according to the ideas and information gathered from a number of disciplines. Trans-disciplinary on the other hand involves borrowing information and ideas across disciplines with an aim of coming up with a precise course of action. On this basis, as put forward by Shrey and Lacerte (1995) the focus of a problem is within and beyond discipline boundaries with probability of new perspectives. This indicates that team members think beyond the boundaries of their different disciplines. The author is associated with Research Thesis Writng. 1. The chance you might suffer from a long-term disability in your life is about 50%. That means one in two Canadians will experience a long-term disability in their lifetime. The younger you are, the greater the risk. This is because there are many more years ahead of you to work, and the risk of injury is much higher in younger years. If you do suffer from a disability that lasts longer than 90 days, the average time off work is 2.9 years!
2. Even if you have a group disability insurance policy, chances are you don’t have the full coverage you might think you have. Here are a some reasons why your group disability policy might be limited: you earn bonus or incentive income that is not part of your regular salary, and is not insured; your group plan has limits or a cap on monthly benefits, and your earnings far exceed the monthly cap; you are a professional with specialized skills who would be forced to take ANY type of work after 24 months on disability if you are still not able to do the job you were trained for; your group disability policy only covers TOTAL disability, so if you come back to work part time you lose all your benefits. These are all common examples of the limitations of group disability insurance. 3. In order to go to work each day and be effective we all need to be healthy. It seems like a cliché, but you really don’t know how valuable your health is until you’ve lost it. When suffering from an injury or illness, it becomes difficult to go to work each day, and income can be reduced or cease altogether. Would your bank understand if you can’t make the mortgage payment because of a disability? Will the utilities company forgive your bills? The answer is NO – and no bank will lend you money while on disability. Remember, you have to buy insurance while you are still healthy. Once you become sick or hurt, you become uninsurable.
4. The lifestyle you are accustomed to, and the future dreams you are planning for, depend on your ability to earn income today. The retirement plan you have designed needs to fed each month with your savings. Buying that house, cottage by the lake, RV, etc. all depend on you continuing to earn an income. If income suddenly stops, your future dreams could also go up in a puff of smoke if you are not insured. ]]>
5. When you are sick or hurt, do you want to be changing jobs? Maybe you can no longer do the job you love, but do some other, easier job to earn at least some income. Would you want to be forced into doing a job that is beneath your skills and abilities because of a sickness or injury? Without proper disability insurance, this is a reality for many people. Even with a group benefits plan, after 24 months on disability claim for your REGULAR occupation, you will be reassessed to see if you can perform ANY occupation, and if so, be forced into that kind of work. This is a terrible situation.
6. If you are self employed or working for a company without any type of disability insurance, you are total exposed to income loss. For almost everyone in this situation, disability insurance is something on their radar, but often just doesn’t get done. People procrastinate. How would you feel if you became disabled while you were, “thinking about getting disability insurance.” Also, people often find the cost of disability insurance too high, and wish they could have the cheap stuff offered through employer group disability policies. Actually, the cheap group disability insurance only seems inexpensive to the employees, because the employer is carrying the bulk of the premiums as an added benefit for working there. There is no cheap insurance. The cost for insurance should strive to be fair. If the insurance company would lose money selling the policies, then they just wouldn’t sell them.
7. As stated before, you must buy disability insurance while you are still healthy. Once your health changes, due to a serious illness or an injury to a part of your body, you suddenly become high risk. Many people have found out the hard way that they are a high risk for an insurance company. Once you become a “risk statistic” to the insurance companies, one of two things can happen. You could be rated, and asked to pay much higher premiums than a health person for your coverage, or you could be declined – meaning the insurance company doesn’t want to take on your risk. If you leave the doctor’s office feeling uncertain about your future, the insurance company will feel the same way. Get insurance NOW, while you’re still healthy.
8. There are many different types of disability insurance plans. They are highly customizable and can fit your unique needs and budget. There is a lot of complexity to designing the rite disability insurance policy, so be sure to seek out a disability insurance specialist in the insurance industry. There is one thing that is simple – you can’t insure more than you earn. No insurance company wants to give you a reason to stay home, therefore they typically offer about two thirds of your prior earnings in disability insurance benefits. There is an incentive to go back to work: you can earn more. If getting the maximum amount of insurance is too expensive for you, you can always take a bit less. It’s better to have some coverage than none at all.
9. Do you know how much you are worth? Have you ever thought of yourself as an economic engine, able to make money for many years to come? Well, if you did, you would see how valuable you are. As an example, if you were 35 years old, making ,000 and planned work another 30 years, your earnings are worth over Million (assuming a 2% annual increase). You’re definitely worth a lot more than your house or your car, and you don’t think twice about insuring those assets. Insure YOURSELF – you’re definitely worth it.
10. If you like to gamble, you could make a wager on getting or avoiding a disability. Here is how it works. If you bet on having a disability and buy a policy one of two things can happen (50/50 chance): you either become disabled and get a HUGE financial benefit from your plan, or you don’t get disabled and lose the small amount of monthly premium you spent. If you bet on not having a disability and don’t buy a policy, one of two things can happen (50/50 chance): you don’t get a disability and have a few extra dollars each month to spend or save, or you do have a long-term disability, and possibly lose everything you have when you lose your income. Think about the chances and the outcomes carefully, and then you decide how you want to roll the dice. Mitch Reynolds has been a a licensed life insurance advisor and manager since 2000. For a claim to be paid, when someone is considered totally disabled, your disability must meet the exact definition in your insurance policy. Do not assume anything when it comes to disability insurance and read your policy carefully. Below are the most common and basic total disability definitions. Your disability insurance policy may offer a variation of these definitions. This is the most comprehensive definition of total disability. The definition may say: The inability to perform the material and substantial duties of your regular occupation. The insurance company will consider your occupation to be the occupation you are engaged in at the time you become disabled. The insurance company will pay the claim even if you are working in some other capacity full or part time. What I have found is that people will not want to sit at home and collect monthly disability checks. Instead, as long as they are not severely disabled, most people will decide to go back to work in some capacity or just keep physically active. Own-occupation disability insurance is the only plan that does not penalize disabled individuals for going back to work in a different occupation. Under this type of plan, the bottom line is, if because of a sickness or injury, you cannot work in your occupation, you will still be considered totally disabled, even if you choose to do something else. It seems, that this has become the most common definition of total disability. Most insurance carriers that do not offer own-occupation disability insurance, now offer an income replacement definition policy. The first part of the definition is very similar to the own-occupation definition, but the second part is substantially different. ]]> A disability income replacement definition may say: Because of sickness or injury you are unable to perform the material and substantial duties of your occupation, and As you will notice, the major difference between an income replacement and an own-occupation definition is that, in the income replacement definition, you will be penalized if you go back to work, or earn any other source of income. Also note that, under this plan, you cannot go back to work in capacity or the insurance company may offset your monthly benefit checks. This definition of total disability is very common in group long term disability insurance policies. It is quite simply the worst definition available and should be supplemented with an individual, quality contract (if not replaced entirely). This definition basically leaves the determination of whether or not you are totally disabled up to the insurance company. A total disability definition may say: Because of sickness or injury you are unable to perform the material and substantial duties or your occupation, or any occupation for which you are deemed reasonably qualified by education, training, or experience. Could somebody be forced to go flip burgers under this definition of total disability? Maybe not, but it does leave a lot of room for litigation and interpretation. As defined, without a sudden event, an insured’s injury does not constitute a total disability due to an “accidental bodily injury” within the meaning of a disability insurance policy that distinguishes between accident versus sickness. As an example, carpal tunnel syndrome, which may be caused by repetitive and forceful activities in which the insured engages for years, the insured’s disability was not due to an “accidental bodily injury”. Total disability in an accidental policy, is often considered total if an individual losses a body part such as a hand, an eye…. Please beware, collecting benefits with lender type mortgage disability insurance policies, is probably the hardest as the definition of total disability is that you may not be able to do any work at all to collect benefits. It is the easiest to understand but at the same time the least likely to pay as most people are able to do some kind of work (even at minimum wage). Also, it is not uncommon for these policies to only cover you if you are totally disabled in an accident. Looking at the certificate the lender gives you at sign up will not show you the exact definitions of total disability. You need to and do have the right to request a copy of the master policy. Irregardless of which plan or company you select, you must always read your approved policy or master policy very carefully. You certainly do not want to find out that your total disability is not covered because of some nuance in the coverage. Your life is yours only and nobody has the right to manipulate it by any means. Do you agree with me? Then, why disabled people have to face the difficulties that they don’t deserve at all? Gracefully, disability social security laws are there to provide them social security disability benefits which protect them from being deprived of all the facilities they deserve not only because of they are disabled but also they have the right to live on it, such as: education, job etc. As we all know that noting in this world is easily earned, this same rule effects in their matter also. In such circumstance disability lawyers are of great help to earn them the right of living, keeping their head straight without depending on others. What are disability social security laws? These laws are meant to protect a disabled person from being hurt as well as giving them financial assistance. These laws come under two categories for providing disability benefits, such as: Supplement Security Income (SSI): It’s a federal income supplement program offered by social security administration which is meant to provide monetary benefits to the disabled people who have insufficient income to run their household. A certain amount of cash is provided for fulfilling their basic needs of food, clothes and shelter. ]]> Social Security Disability (SSD): This is allotted for the people who have worked long and paid Social Security Taxes but due to some reason lost their ability of working. These social security disability benefits are only for the disabled person. What is the term “disability” meant by the Social Security administration? If a person falls into the above mentioned criteria then only they can get social security disability benefits. For getting these benefits one must hire disability lawyers. Who are disability lawyers? They are the skilled professionals who deal with disability laws. They are mostly of two types, such as: The first type of them focuses on getting the rights of the disabled people which has been denied because of their disability. They fight for giving the disability social security to the disabled person. How hiring disability attorneys can be helpful bring you social security disability benefits? They know all the ins and outs of disability laws. Social security disability benefits are a must for a disabled person. Thus, hire a lawyer who can help you to get disability social security. We all know how important typical health insurance is, but did you know that disability insurance is just as important? In the event that you are hurt on the job, and cannot work, disability insurance will give you peace of mind-you will still able to provide for your family. While we would like to think that we always work safely, accidents do happen and you need to be sure that you have every angle covered in the event of an accident. If you become ill or injured on the job and as a result you are unable to return to work, there are a couple of options that will replace lost income. These types of disability insurance are not going to fully replace your income because they want you to have an incentive for returning back to work once you get well. Social Security benefits are paid to you when your disability is expected to last for at least 12 months. Most of the time this is when no gainful employment can occur and you must remain out of work for the entire duration of your leave. Employer-paid disability is required by almost every state in the United States. This type of disability insurance is deducted from your paycheck, and is there for you in the event of an accident. When you are looking at disability insurance policies, it is important to understand what they mean. While the two available policies are both for disability, they both cover a different amount of time you will be covered, and when you will start receiving your compensation. A short-term disability policy means that you will be covered for no longer than 2 years. With this policy you may have to wait up to 14 days before you start receiving compensation. A long-term disability policy is a little different. The disability compensation will not kick in for several weeks, sometimes a couple of months. However, long-term disability will cover you for a longer period of time, and sometimes for the rest of your life. Along with having the two different types of insurance policies, there are also two different protection features. Protection is offered to you to ensure that you are not going to be treated unfairly due to your inability to work. Non-cancelable means that for no reason other than not paying your premiums can your policy be canceled. With this type of policy you will lock in your premium and will not risk a decrease in the benefits. On the other hand, a guaranteed renewable policy means that the same benefits will be available every year. The only way that your premium will be increased is if every policyholder within the same rating class as yourself increases also. While there are many options when choosing disability insurance as well, these are the most popular selections. It is important to discuss all available options when choosing a disability insurance policy to ensure that you know what you will receive in the event of an accident or illness. Research your options to find the best choice for you and your family. Written by kentaro17 Find More Disabilities Articles

There are situations when you have to temporarily disable your antivirus software. For eg: when you are installing a new program, trying a virus removal tool, troubleshooting if something is working etc. Many people have a hard time finding out the option to disable the antivirus program. Here are some tips that will help you to disable your antivirus software Warning:Disabling your antivirus program is like leaving the door of your house open and going for a vacation. There are hundreds of pieces of malware which are waiting for such a golden opportunity. So, remember to enable your antivirus as soon as you are done, disconnect your network if possible when the antivirus is disabled and never disable your antivirus just because your system is running slow (Many people do this). Your antivirus program always runs in the background. You can find all such background applications in your system tray which is in the lower right corner of your screen. So, look in the system tray and find out the icon for your antivirus program. If you don’t see the icon, then it may be just hidden. Click on the little arrow to expand and show the hidden icons. Hovering your mouse over each of them should show you the program name in a little tooltip. Once you have found it, double click on it to open the program. The option to disable antivirus varies according to each program. Look for any check box that says ‘Turn on autoprotect’, ‘Turn on AVG Resident Shield’, “Enable Resident Shield.”,”Disable real-time file system protection.”,“Temporarily disable Antivirus and antispyware protection.”, “Pause Protection.”, “”Disable Auto-Protect.” Etc. You may need to check or uncheck the checkbox depending on what it says. Once you are done, You usually get an alert from Windows security center that your antivirus is disabled. This is an indication that you have successfully turned it off . If you still can’t do it right, then search in Google with the name of your antivirus program. For example, search using the words ‘disable autoprotect Norton’,’ disable antivirus MacAfee’ etc. Include the full name of the product and the version number to get more specific results. Sometimes it happens that even though you disable your antivirus program, it might be still blocking things in your system. This is because an antivirus program also has other background services and drivers. Even though the real time protection is disabled, these services still run in the background. Well, you can stop services but you can’t mess with drivers; that is dangerous. But the best way to avoid these drivers and services interfering with what you are doing is to boot your computer to ‘safe mode’. If you need internet connection then you need to boot to ‘safe mode with networking’. To know how to start your system in ‘safe mode’ or ‘safe mode with networking’, refer the following page: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html For technical tips and articles, visit http://lockoutfixer.cz.cc Written by Shanmugam Piramanayagam
